Helping people find and follow Jesus

"...Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you..." Matthew 28:19-20

Just Imagine...

Imagine if every follower of Jesus could name four people who are far from God – four people they are praying for, investing in, and seeking to share about Jesus. We believe God’s people don’t merely need another method for evangelism – what they need is a passion to help people find and follow Jesus.  Don’t have Your Four yet?  See the resources on this page to help you identify Your Four.

As followers of Jesus, we've been invited to experience His power through the work of the Holy Spirit in us. The same power that brought Jesus back from the grave is alive in us. God has chosen to use you to accomplish His work. Isn't that an incredible thought? The God who created the universe could accomplish His plans without our help, but He has invited us to be part of it. Furthermore, He has given us His Spirit to enable us to accomplish this work that we could not complete on our own. That's a powerful invitation! As you use the tools below to consistently look for ways to help Your Four find Jesus, trust in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit to guide you.

We are all here because not only did Jesus's disciples give their lives to Jesus's great commission, but also because someone else did. The goal isn't to get them to church. The goal is to get the church to them. The church isn't a building. It's a community of people who have a heart for God and have His heart. And Jesus told us where God's heart is. God's heart is for everyone. When the church captures that heart, when they grab ahold of the heart of God. When a church has a heart for everyone, and they are committed to make room for anyone, God will move in a powerful way. It starts with the heart; it starts with your heart. The apostle Paul put it this way in a letter he wrote to the church in Rome. "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile." (Romans 1:16) The message of Jesus is not for some people, it's not for a selected few, it's not for the privileged - Jesus is for everyone.

Identify and Invest in Your Four

Imagine if every follower of Jesus could answer that question with the names of a four people who are far from God—people for whom they’re praying and with whom seeking to share about Jesus. That’s the intention behind Your Four. We believe God’s people don’t merely need another method for evangelism—what they need is a passion to help the people we love find and follow Jesus.

Can you imagine if together we prioritized our personal ownership of our part in Matthew 28:18-19 as we each intentionally and lovingly pursue four people with the hope that Jesus offers? Not as projects, but out of our love for people and love for God. At times, it seems the mission is simply too complex and too vast for people like us. While we can't do everything, we can do something. We can personally take responsibility for our Four.

If you've met Jesus, you've got a story to share. Stories are about change, and Jesus is all about changing everything for everyone. It's easy to get overwhelmed by the idea of sharing your story. Perhaps you've told yourself, "It's not exciting enough," or, "It's too complicated." The truth is, sharing your story is as simple as telling people what God has done for you. That was the approach the apostle Paul used. In Acts 22 and Acts 26, Paul told his story in about 500 words - 2 to 3 minutes at normal speaking pace. With a little preparation, your story can be a powerful way to give God the praise he deserves and to help others draw closer to Him.
