What is Treat Your Street?
“Treat Your Street” is an opportunity to show radical hospitality to friends and neighbors right where we live. We’re encouraging you to work together in groups (family, friends, neighbors) to go “above and beyond the fun-size candy bar” for the children (and adults) that are out trick or treating.
When is It?
“Treat Your Street” is meant to coincide with your neighborhood’s scheduled Trick-or-Treat times. Most generally this is Halloween night, unless your neighborhood has a previously scheduled event outside of Oct. 31st.
How Does it Work?
We’re so glad you asked!
First you need to
Pick Your Treat
Come up with a special treat to give or a fun game to play on Halloween. You can try hot chocolate, hot coffee, or even hot dogs. Your hosting kit will include awesome ideas to help inspire simple but fun games your trick-or-treaters can play in your driveway.
Then you choose a
Place to Meet
If you’re working together with others, choose a home of someone in your group who lives in the busiest trick-or-treat neighborhood and set up your “treat station” in the driveway.
Now it’s time to
Treat Your Street
Show some radical hospitality by sharing your treats with kids and adults as they trick or treat through your neighborhood. Have fun with it! Dress up! Work together to create a theme! Make it a fun and welcoming atmosphere where people will want to hang out for a few minutes on a busy night!
Let us know where you will be hosting! We want to support you in reaching your neighbors. Sign up here and we will set aside a hosting kit just for you to help you create a great experience for your neighbors!
Wow… That was fun!!!
After your group has had the opportunity to bless your friends and neighbors, let us know about your experience. Head over to our Instagram and Facebook pages and tag us in your photos & stories about your Treat Your Street experience.
